MOON PRISM POWER!!!

Hullo again!

So much has happened since last I posted. I do hope you'll forgive me for all the news.

I got a whole nice batch of fabric in. Various cute things in cute styles. I've sold a couple more bags as well. I'm planning on making another Steven Universe bag. I might even make two and keep one for myself. My most recent completed bag was a pastel Sailor Moon bag!

I reverse applique'd the moons on in a pastel yellow plaid. I'm in love with this fabric and so glad that I found it. It's even more darling in person!

I also got a custom order for a size I didn't have, so I had to draft a pattern for it. That harrowing experience done, I'm now in the process of putting it together. It's a mega-bag and I'm pretty sure it has a fight with Godzilla next week. I'll post some pics of that once it's compete. I can't wait to have it done. Working with that much interfacing is hard!

I posted my plus-sized elf coat on the shop as well. Here's a preview if you're interested:

It's made out of t-shirts! I was thinking I would make a whole series of them, but there hasn't been much interest, so I don't know. I have a couple of them I made for myself and they're a lot lighter and easier to wear than the sweater ones, which makes it perfect for the eternal Texas summer.

Anyway, more shenanigans to follow and more updates when they happen!

New Product Photography

Hey, folks! Cow here. So I decided that since my new work included limited access to online classes, I might as well take a short course on Photography. I've been practicing my product photography and so I updated the pictures for the star bag:

As well as a whole new listing for the candy bag I recently finished:

I've recently been provided a new pattern for a different type of bag. Not sure if it's going to work out though. It's a side bag. I guess I'll have to finish it. Until then I'll reserve judgement. I've also been working on that coffin pattern I was talking about. I'll definitely post pictures when I've got them. The most exciting new addition to my collection of fabrics-that-are-soon-to-be-bags is a really beautiful pastel sailor moon themed fabric. I don't want to spoil the surprise though, so I'll have pictures of that up once I'm at least in progress for that one.

I was hoping to update the pictures on the other three listings as soon as I can. I find that the techniques I've learned have also taught me sufficiently to cringe at what I had previously thought of as acceptable. I also want to widen my selection. I have a couple of jersey-style elf coats I'd like to post and I think adding cat paw gloves and tails would round out my selection nicely.

Let me know if there's anything you think you'd like to see in my shop, or if you have any suggestions on things I could change!

I heart you guys.

Lots of New Things!

Long time no chat! Just started my new day job, so I'm back to making posts and bags and other things on the weekend only. Thankfully, this weekend is a long one, so I can get a lot done!

Totally finished the star bag. It's up on the ole Etsy store now:

I'm pretty proud of the way the new window pattern came out. It's also not the only sweet loli-ish thing I'm currently sporting. The next one I'm going to post is probably going to give some people cavities:

Also decided on a general direction that I'm going to be taking my coffin bag. I kinda want that one to be a surprise, but here's a sneak peek at the lining fabric:

What cute little dead people, am I right? More on that as it develops.

Other than that, life has been good to me. We're trying to plan what Seth wants to do for his birthday. I started that new job and enjoying it so far. I've also acquired a cartoon addiction lately. Star vs. the Forces of Evil is something we've been running right through for the past week or so. Tonight's plan is to gather various cereals and eat them while watching an assortment of cartoons. Star, Steven Universe, Over the Garden Wall, and Gravity Falls are all probably going to be on the watch list.

What would you guys choose?

Fairy Kei and Pastel Goth

Good day to you, guys!

How're things with you? I'm doing fantastic, thank you for asking. So I had a brain-thought the other day. I'd be really interested in getting into more pastel goth things. I'm going to be posting my jackets and gloves to my Etsy account here pretty soon, once I run out of bags to work on. (Only three left to make.) My first thought was to make a coffin-shaped pattern to make a bag out of. I was thinking in a sort of light pink with fabric paint icing, a lavender interior and lavender straps. What do you guys think?

If I end up doing it, of course I'll share with you the juicy deets as well as a couple of pictures. Speaking of pictures, here's the bag I'm currently working on (it's one of the three):

Isn't the fabric just refreshing? I love the criss-cross pattern of the yellow, which is also going to the the lining for the bag and the interior of the inside pocket. This should be up in the shop within a day or two. Final pictures to come.

I also took a pretty fine picture of my new thread garden:

Being able to have all of them in one place and easily accessible has been a godsend. I don't have to wonder if I have a decent cerulean thread tucked away...somewhere...around. I can just look, and know. Like a person who has their life together. Haha!

Also, Reginald says hello. ^_^

First Custom Order!

Hey guys,

Just finished my first custom order. I was so excited about it I couldn't wait and I got it done in no time. This is probably not going to be a very long blog post, but I just couldn't not share it with you guys. Here's the finished product:

Isn't it darling? The individual that ordered this picked out all the fabrics and the theme. It was a real joy to work on. I promise I'll post more in a day or two.

Hyrulian Completion!

Hey guys!

After a nice long birthday celebration, I decided it was time to get back to work. And work I did! Just finished the second bag I made to post on my Etsy page. I'm really thrilled with how it turned out and I hope that it finds a swell home soon. Check it out:

And with my paw inside it for good scale:

I think I'm starting to get the hang of this whole "product photography" thing. I took the class on instructables and it definitely helped. I whole-heartedly recommend their classes. They put some real effort into teaching some incredible things on there.

Oh, I also just got my first custom order! I've posted some pictures of the fabric to my instagram, and I'll be putting more on here when it's a little further along. Thanks to everyone who is helping to make my dream a reality. You're all wonderful.

Birthday Time!

It's my birthday!!!

When I got to my day job they had done a real number decorating everything. Table cloth, button, balloons, birthday sash, two birthday cards, two presents, a crown, and four plastic fairy wands. Not to mention all the candy I don't need. Haha! It's been wonderful so far. I'm excited to go to Denny's and have them feed me for existing!

That said, I've been going a little fabric crazy. I just got some really sugar sweet ones. Light pink with medium pink roses and cream. Truth be told, I've been eyeing this fabric for the longest time, and just got the perfect excuse to buy it: more bags! I'm wanting to line it with the other ones shown here:

Aren't they beautiful? Even just cutting the one on the right has been a real pleasure. I can't wait to see what they look like complete.

The Zelda bag is a squeak away from being done. Once it is I will totally update you guys. It'll be posted to Etsy too. My friend Catora did a real number picking out the interior fabric. It's perfect. Anyway! More to come!
